Specifications and price of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max
At the California Streaming event, Apple showed off a range of new devices for 2021, including the iPhone. Two new iPhone models are attracting attention, namely iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
As the name suggests, they are both the successors to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, which were released in 2020.
Interestingly, currently the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are officially available for purchase in Indonesia.
So what are the specs of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max? More importantly, what is the price of the most sophisticated iPhone in Indonesia?
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max Design
You won’t find too noticeable a design difference between the iPhone 13 Pro version and the previous generation. There are still “dips” at the top of the screen where the selfie camera and various other sensors are placed. On the back you will find three rear cameras.
Interestingly, the “rim” size on the iPhone 13 Pro version is said to be 20% smaller than the iPhone 12 Pro version.
In terms of displays, both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max use the Super Retina XDR display. The screen is guaranteed to be able to produce high brightness with sharp images.
What makes the difference, unsurprisingly, is the setting on the screen. The iPhone 13 Pro has a smaller 6.1-inch screen. Meanwhile, the iPad 13 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch screen.
The displays on both Pro versions of the iPhone come with a new feature called ProMotion Display. This feature adjusts the screen refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz. A feature that was widely available on Android phones but has just made its way to the iPhone 13 Pro version.
With this feature, the system automatically sets the screen refresh rate to 120 Hz. With a static screen, the refresh rate can be reduced to 10 Hz.
The cameras of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are increasingly sophisticated
The camera is one of the strong points or the main selling point of the iPhone. Nothing has changed in this new generation of iPhone. Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have the same big camera specs.
Apple still uses a 12MP camera for all three main cameras. Despite everything, improvements are being made in terms of lenses, sensors and image processing.
The main camera of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max now has a larger sensor, 1.9 µm. The aperture is also increased to f/1.5. Both are larger than the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 1.7µm sensor and f/1.6 aperture. That means the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max can take better low-light photos than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The second camera of the iPhone 13 Pro series has a telephoto function with specifications of 12MP 77mm f/2.8. This camera can produce a 3x optical zoom. The telephoto lens has been changed from 65mm (2.5x optical zoom) f/2.4 to the previous generation.
The third camera on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is also better. The camera is of the ultra-wide-angle type and consists of a 6-element (layer) lens with an aperture of f/1.8. The aperture is significantly larger than the iPhone 12 Pro at f/2.4.
Interestingly, the ultra-wide lens on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max can also be used as a macro camera. The three 12MP cameras on both phones also support night mode.
The dual camera system of the iPhone 13 Pro variant supports the ProRes codec, Apple’s professional video codec. The camera can also shoot 4K video at 30fps and offers direct on-device editing capabilities.
On the front itself is a 12MP f/2.2 camera.
