How To Backup WhatsApp Chats To Google Drive

The increasing intensity of WhatsApp use makes some people reluctant to switch to mobile phones (HP). The reason is “The WhatsApp will be lost, lazy ah”, although WhatsApp has provided many alternatives to backup chat data now.

For those of you who use Android, you can backup data using Google Drive. Why use Google Drive? The reason for this is that Google Drive is a cloud-based backup feature that is immediately available by default in WhatsApp.

You no longer need to install any other apps to backup your Android based phone, just use a Google Drive account. Interestingly, when you sign in with Gmail on an Android device, your Drive account is automatically signed in. This means that you no longer need to create a special account for Google Drive.

If you switch to another Android phone and use the same account, Google Drive will switch to that phone as well. Thus, the process of restoring backups from old phone to new phone becomes easier.

To enable, select Settings > Chats > Chat backup > Backup to Google Drive > select “Daily “, “Weekly ” or “Monthly “.

– Choose Backup to Google Drive to choose the frequency of regular backups based on your needs.

– If you don’t have a Google account out of the box, add one if needed.

– Select Backup to (Mobile data or Wi-Fi) to be able to choose to use the connection to back up data.

Please note that backing up with mobile data may result in higher quota usage. In this case, of course, you should also be prepared to pay higher internet fees.

However, backups can also be done more conveniently and efficiently if you choose to back up over Wi-Fi. WhatsApp only backs up all your data when you use a Wi-Fi connection.

Save chat as email

Conversations between WhatsApp users can also be saved in text format. Due to its small size, the archive of this conversation can also be sent directly by email.

It’s easy, just open the chat tab you want to record. Tap the hamburger icon (three dots) in the top right corner, tap the More section, click Export chat, and select Gmail.

Then the option to insert the file as images, documents or text only will appear. For a more convenient and simple option, choose a plain text file.

Restoring data from backup may fail

If WhatsApp can’t see a backup, it’s probably because you’re not signed in to the same Google account. Also, you may not be using the same phone number that was used to perform the backup.

To do this, make sure that if you change your mobile phone or reinstall WhatsApp app, your Google account or phone number must be the same, so that your important old messages or chats can be restored and recovered.

Don’t hesitate to change your phone anymore, choose the phone of your dreams without losing important data on WhatsApp.
